Jay McCarrol amazes people. They wonder how he does what he does. His songs are created by blending his artistic perception of a subject into a fantastic contemporary rock song. Every song means something, and every song is a work of art; a theatrical dream that gets right into your head.
A solo artist from Toronto, Canada, Jay has spent the last 3 years studying at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, where he was awarded a scholarship at 18. Eager to begin his career as a performing artist, but hesitant to leave college, he decided to take a temporary leave from school to focus completely on songwriting. 2006 will be the year he dedicates to getting noticed. He has moved back to Toronto and is currently involved in several projects, most importantly, the recent completion of his 10 song CD.
Jay has hooked up with young Berklee graduates who studied music engineering and production. They knew a great musician and singer when they heard one, and offered their studio services for free, simply to get their name on Jay’s CD. Jay has been traveling back and forth between Toronto, New York and Boston for the making of the CD. As well, he is writing the musical score to the feature length independent film “Swink” to be released in early 2006.
